The Optimist Creed: Article 3

Sunday, June 10, 2012

Greetings, fellow humans! I hope you all are doing well. Today I'm looking at the third article of the Optimist Creed. This one will be short. The creed is as follows...

Promise yourself...
To be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind.

To talk health, happiness and prosperity to every person you meet.

To make all your friends feel that there is something in them.

To look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true.

To think only of the best, to work only for the best, and to expect only the best.

To be just as enthusiastic about the success of others as you are about your own.

To forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future.

To wear a cheerful countenance at all times and give every living creature you meet a smile.

To give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others.

To be too large for worry, too noble for anger, too strong for fear, and too happy to permit the presence of trouble.

First off, let me get one thing straight. There is worth in every single soul. Every last one.

However, not everyone has a feeling of self-worth. That could be real sad.

I would assume that everyone wants to feel special. Everyone wants to feel important. Everyone wants to feel awesome. Everyone wants to be worth something.

What to do? What to do?

Easy! Make these people feel special. Make them feel important. Make them feel awesome. Make them feel like they are worth something.

Compliment freely. Be scarce with criticism. Encourage people to grow. Love people.

Love, I think, is the best way to help people feel like there is something in them.

Start today!

Any thoughts?
