The Book of Questions: Question 35

Monday, April 30, 2012

Good day, readers! I ask that you please bare with me, as my finals week starts tomorrow. I can barely believe my first year of college is about over! Crazy. Anyway, to hold you over, here's another question...

If you haven't seen my The Book of Questions feature before, here's what it's all about:

I take a question from this book written by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write my response, and ask for your response.

This is the 10th question I'm asking you all and the 35th in the book.

QUESTION 35:
Would you give up half of what you now own for a pill that would permanently change you so that one hour of sleep each day would fully refresh you?

MY RESPONSE:
No! I love to sleep!

FOLLOW-UP QUESTION:
Do you feel you have enough time? If not, what would give you that feeling? How much has your attitude about time changed as you've aged?

MY RESPONSE:
Sometimes, I feel like don't have enough time in the day. Sometimes, I feel like I need many, many more hours to finish what I want finished. Other times, I feel like the day has been stretched out too long. I don't know.

What gives me that feeling? On the "short" days, it's usually the amount of activities, classes, and meetings I have to do in a given day. Procrastination can also make time seem very short. On those long days, I think being close to the weekends affects how I look at the time. Weekends can't come soon enough. Also, if I've been doing an activity for a long time, I feel like time is going by slowly.

As I've aged...pause. I haven't really aged much. I'm still rather young, but I've learned this: Time truly is precious. Any moment could be the end of my life. ANY moment. I don't have time for games. Every breath is another chance to live. We cannot take that fact lightly because there are those who don't have another chance at all. Time is precious, and we may not always be a part of it, so don't take it for granted.
Also, you can't "make" time for something. People say stuff like "I'm making time for this." or "I'll make time for you." No. Time is already here. There isn't less or more of it (unless it's Daylight Savings Time). It's just here, so you can't make or create anymore. What I've learned is that one must TAKE time to do things. Yes, take time. It's here, so I take it to do whatever needs to be done. That's it.

Now, what's YOUR RESPONSE?!...or comments/questions you have on my response?

The Book of Questions: Question 18

Tuesday, February 7, 2012

Greetings!

Time for another The Book of Questions feature!

If you're new to my The Book of Questions feature thing, here's the run down: I ask a question from this book written by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., post my response, and ask for your response. It's really something sort and simple to keep the blog alive.

QUESTION 18:
If you could wake up tomorrow having gained any one ability or quality, what would it be?

MY RESPONSE:
I'm torn between the ability to fly, run fast, have super strength, become invisible, or extreme flexibility. Anything the Incredibles can do.

What about you?!

The Book of Questions: Question 12

Wednesday, December 7, 2011

What's up, readers? I'm coming at you with another question from The Book of Questions.

For those who don't know: I select a question from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write it up, give my answer, and ask for your answer. I select the not-too-personal questions, and hopefully questions that wouldn't offend anyone.

Here's goes the 12th question from the book!

QUESTION 12:
If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the body or the mind of 30-year old for the last 60 years of your life, which would you want?

MY RESPONSE:
Body. No one wants to look old.

Haha, that's about it. Do you agree with me, or do you have a different answer?

Let me know!

SIDE NOTE! Comment or email me (nialangleyspeaks@gmail.com) to suggest what I should blog about or if you want to be featured on NIA SPEAKS. Thanks, readers! ANONYMOUS COMMENTS ARE WELCOMED!

The Book of Questions: Question 10

Thursday, October 27, 2011

I hope you all are having a great week! I've been really busy and tired this week, but I'll be sure to give you some good new stuff next week.

Until then, my good friend Gregory (actually, I've never met him) has another question for you all!

For those of you not familiar with my The Book of Questions feature, I select a question from this book by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write my response, and ask for your response. This is my seventh time featuring a question, and I'm using the tenth question in the book.

QUESTION 10:
Which sex do you think has it easier in our culture? Have you ever wished you were of the opposite sex?

MY RESPONSE:
In America, men definitely have it easier. However, I think women have come a long way.

No.

Let me know what YOUR RESPONSE is! Is it any different in your culture?

Book of Questions: Question 9

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

Hey hey! It's about time for another question from The Book of Questions. If you're new to this feature, I ask a question from this book written by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., post my response, and ask for your response. It's really something short and simple to keep the blog alive.

Here comes the question and the follow-up question...

QUESTION 9:
Would you accept $1,000,000 to leave the country and never set foot in it again?

MY RESPONSE:
No. (Short and sweet)

FOLLOW-UP QUESTION:
If you were expelled from the country and had only limited financial resources, where would you try to rebuild your life?

MY RESPONSE:
I have currencies for many countries. At least enough to buy a loaf of bread and then some. Ahaha! So I'm good overall, but I'd chose England, Canada, or the Caribbean, because I have family in all of those areas.

I'm ready for YOUR RESPONSE now!

Book of Questions: Question 8

Thursday, August 25, 2011

IT'S MY BIRTHDAY TODAY! Expect a Fashion post real soon. =)

For now, here's another question.

For those of you not familiar with my The Book of Questions feature, I select a question from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write it up, give my answer, and ask for your answer. I select the not-too-personal questions, and hopefully questions that wouldn't offend anyone.

Let's go!

QUESTION 8:
Would you rather be a member of a world championship sports team or be the champion of an individual sport? Which sport would you choose?

MY RESPONSE:
I'd probably want to be the champion of an individual sport. It kind of sounds selfish, but many humans seek glorification to a certain extent, and it's easier to be recognized when you're by yourself than with a team. Yeah. Selfish. Sorry?

I would pick tennis. I've always enjoyed tennis, and being involved with the National Junior Tennis League a few years back strengthened my love for the game. Plus, I'm good at it! So, I choose tennis.

All right. I want to know YOUR RESPONSE (or questions/comments on my response).

Auf wiedersehen!

The Book of Questions: Question 6

Wednesday, August 3, 2011

I know I said you all would get a Life post this week, but that will probably have to be pushed back until next week for my lack of time. Pssst! I'm packing for college. =)

I'll do my best to give you all at least one more post this week, but until then, here's a The Book of Questions feature.

To the people who aren't yet familiar with my The Book of Questions feature: This is a short and simple thing I do to keep the blogging flow flowing. I take a question from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., post my response, and ask for your response.

To the people who are familiar with this feature: Sorry for repeating that above part so many times.

QUESTION 6:
You discover your wonderful one-year-old child is, because of a mixup at the hospital, not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to try to correct the mistake?

MY RESPONSE:
Honestly, I don't know. After a year, I've probably grown to love the child deeply. I would definitely want to find MY baby though. Exchange it? I'm not sure. This is a difficult question.

Isn't there some television show called Switched at Birth? I think both sets of parents manage to raise both children together, but that's after the kids are teenagers, I believe.

When I asked my mother this question, she said, "I would keep both." I think she was serious.

Anyway, it's time for me to hear YOUR RESPONSE or questions/comments on my response (though mine wasn't really answering the question).

See you next time!

The Book of Questions: Question 5

Thursday, June 30, 2011

I'm so sorry I'm using a question from The Book of Questions twice in the same month! I've just been so busy! I'll have some good stuff coming for you all soon, so stay patient!

If you're new to my The Book of Questions feature thing, here's the run down: I ask a question from this book written by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., post my response, and ask for your response. It's really something short and simple to keep the blog alive.

So here's my third question for you (which is the fifth question in the book)...

QUESTION 5:
If a new medicine were developed that would cure arthritis but cause a fatal reaction in 1 percent of those who took it, would you want it to be released to the public?

MY RESPONSE:
Probably yes, because it helps more than it hurts.

Time for YOUR RESPONSE! Or if you have a comment/question on my response, that's cool too.

Until next time...<3

The Book of Questions: Question 4

Sunday, June 12, 2011

I'm starting to get busy again! Sorry! I'll try to have another post for you all next week, but until then, here's my The Book of Questions feature.

For those of you not familiar with my The Book of Questions feature, I select a question from this book by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write my response, and ask for your response. This is my second time featuring a question, and I'm using the fourth question in the book.

QUESTION 4:
If you could spend one year in perfect happiness but afterward would remember nothing of the experience would you do so? If not, why not?

MY RESPONSE:
I wouldn't, because what's the point of the happiness if there are no memories? If I can't reflect on the moment, to me, it's like it never happened.
"Memory is a way of holding onto the things you love, the things you are, the things you never want to lose."

Now, this is the part when I ask for YOUR RESPONSE or comments/questions on my response.

Dazzle me :)

The Book of Questions: Question 1

Thursday, May 26, 2011

Good news, readers! I've come up with something to do if I'm short on time and my blog looks a little dry...

I'm gonna select a question from The Book of Questions by Gregory Stock, Ph.D., write it up, give my answer, and ask for your answer. I select the not-too-personal questions, and hopefully questions that wouldn't offend anyone.

Now, remember, when I do this, I'm stating my opinion. As I always do. I'm also asking for your opinion on the featured question. I want to hear what you have to say.

So, here we go!

QUESTION 1:
For a person you loved deeply, would you be willing to move to a distant country knowing there would be little chance of seeing your friends or family again?

MY RESPONSE:
No, because I love all my family deeply as well as my friends. So, I don't think I would sacrifice all my friends and family just for one person. If the God was the one I would have to move for, I would probably struggle with it for while, but in the end, I might.

Now I wanna hear YOUR RESPONSE...or even comments/questions on my response.

Look forward to a bunch of these! Much love.
